Hockey Clothing
The North American ice hockey market illustrates this. The sport has also grown in popularity throughout the world thanks to the introduction of synthetic-ice.
The padding on the thighs, pelvis and hips of goalie pants are thicker. Goalie jocks are also referred to as jills, have less protection for the groin area and more padding in front of their cup.
Apparel
Hockey players are wearing a lot of protective equipment as the game involves high-speed skating on hard surfaces. It is often physically intense, where players often collide, sometimes intentionally. The standard safety gear for a hockey player includes sticks, ice skates and helmets with visors chest protectors, shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads and heavy-padded shorts (also known as jock athletic protectors for males, and jockstraps or "jills" for women), a pelvic protection (also called a girdle or "jill", for females) and thigh pads, hip pads, tailbone pads, and shin pads. A neck protector may also be worn.
In recent years technology has been utilized to reduce the weight of ice hockey apparel and make it more functional. Many companies utilize carbon composites in stick shafts and special foams to make shoulder pads lighter without losing protection. Other enhancements include 3D scans which accurately calculate a player's body proportions to ensure that elbow pads, knee pads and shinpads are made to fit the individual player.
As more people become acquainted with the sport, and synthetic ice surfaces are created across the globe to allow players to play in areas with no natural ice, the market for hockey will continue to grow. The number of female hockey players has also grown which is a good thing for the market.
Hats
A hat is a crucial piece of hockey gear that can be worn both on and off the skating rink. We have a broad selection of caps that will please both males and females. We also carry a range of hats designed for young players and fans that can be used to practice or games. Hats are an important aspect of hockey culture. They can be seen in all leagues, including the famous hat-trick tradition where fans toss their hats onto the ice after the player scores three goals in a match.
We have all the NHL gear you need to look professional both on and off the hockey.
Jerseys
Jerseys are the uniforms worn by hockey players. The jerseys are usually heavier and have longer sleeves than other sports jerseys. The jerseys are emblazoned with a team logo on the front as well as the player's last name on the upper back, and the player's number between 0 and 99. Some jerseys bear a "C", "A", or "A" to signify the captain of the team and alternate captain.
There are two kinds: authentic and replica. Genuine jerseys feature the same design and are made from the same material. Replica jerseys could be made from different materials (usually less expensive) and might not have the exact same design as authentic jerseys.
The majority of NHL teams have three or four sets of jerseys that are worn during games. They also have particular sets, for example heritage designs and charity events. Each jersey has an elastic band that is sewn into the back of the inside known as a fight strap which must be tied to the player's pants during a game in order to prevent the sweater from being pulled over the player's head during a fight.
The Authentic Pro is the top-tier jersey from the NHL and is constructed from high-performance fabrics featuring tackle twills that are multilayered 3D embroidery and reinforced stitching. It comes in women's and men's styles. The Authentic Premier is a version of the Authentic Pro that is designed to replicate the look of jerseys worn by athletes on the playing field.
Shirts
The sweaters, or jerseys of a team are their most well-known clothes. The primary logo of the team is displayed on the front and the secondary logo is typically worn on the shoulders. The name of the player is displayed on the back of the sweater and the player's number is displayed below it--ranging from 0 to 99. Captains of the team wear an uppercase "C" above and to the right of their jersey's emblem, while two other players--designated as alternate captains--wear a "A" on theirs.
Most NHL teams have a third jersey, or alternate, that is worn for special occasions, such as for the Winter Classic or Stadium Series. Many teams also have an alternative that is retro or throwback for their home jerseys. Third sweaters are a way for teams to experiment with different designs and often serve as an inspiration for the design of their primary jerseys.
The Vancouver Canucks have a beautiful sweater that blends modern and traditional design. The blue and black jerseys have a bold look to them, which makes it easy to distinguish on the ice, while the white stripes provide some contrast. The Canucks have an attractive font on their numbers and names, which contributes to the clean appearance of the jersey.
